What are the Italian regions that produce more solar energy?
Unbelievable but true, the first place is one of the Italian regions that could be considered among the least suitable, both for its geographical location (Global horizontal irradiation - see the continuation of the post), both meteorological and air cleanliness issues: Lombardy. The ranking is the result of a study carried out by Legambiente and KyotoClub, analyzing the data provided by GSE (Electrical Services Manager) on 1 September 2008.
Here are the numbers and the general classification.
As we said is the Italian region of Lombardy with the largest installed capacity of photovoltaic energy: in fact we're talking about 21.34 MW; leadership also confirmed when analyzing the number of plants built. PV capacity produced in Lombardy accounts for about 12% of the national total. A short distance below the Emilia Romagna with a capacity of 19.82 MW photovoltaic power equal to and just behind with 19.16 MW of Puglia.
latter is the southern region far more active.
