Over the past 15 years within the Roma camps hundreds of workers have guaranteed rights of citizenship, access to public health, school and work have guided the Roma living in camps. Through this work qualified and professional social workers in recent years have increased the welfare of the areas where stress fields, supported social services and schools, prevent conflicts and tensions with the public, making important steps in the process of integration.
The City of Rome and the Italian Red Cross in mid-December signed a protocol with which CRI is assigned the responsibility to "manage the socio-educational principals and the education of children and illiterate adults." The immediate effects of this agreement are:
· the circumvention of the law that requires public tenders for the award of contracts;
· the reduction in the quality of social intervention because you will have to improvise in the CRI inappropriate tasks;
· the cancellation of 200 jobs for these workers.
E 'a duty of the City and CRI guarantee the rights of the Roma nationality and work with these players because one can not exist without the other. At the Extraordinary
Rocca demand the immediate opening of a negotiating table to share best practices through which maintain the skills of these workers, and thus the continuity of their work.
